December has arrived and you know what that means. Yes, that means the Grant Winter Film and Art Festival has happened, and what a time it was. The festival was a collaboration of students and teachers from agriculture, ceramics, coding, graphic design, music, and theater classes from Grant. There were also many other participants from Walter Reed, Louis Armstrong, Madison, and Roy Romer where so many talented students made their traditional, digital, and mixed media art which allowed them to express who they are, no matter where their talents reside.

Many Grant students decided to portray themselves through traditional media displayed in the art gallery set up in the 400 building. Many artworks fit under Joy, the selected theme of the festival this year, whether it be joyful moments, characters, pictures, etc. and many families came to witness this showcase of student art.  There were also many student films shown which presented the talents of our Lancers who enjoy creating films and videos.

Some Grant students decided to put on a show for the festival goers through musical performances of Joy To The World, Angels We Have Heard on High, For The Beauty Of The Earth, and Hanukkah Highlights played by various instruments. Another group of students decided to recreate a play named ¨Most Wonderful¨ which was a hit among the audience as it was a short yet comedic play anyone could enjoy.

Overall, the Winter Film and Art Festival was very eventful and many students were congratulated for their artistic achievements through awards.  If you could not attend this one, there will be another festival in the Spring. Hope to see you there!
