This past Friday, our Lancers faced Taft for their 4th game of the season, once again led by Coach Stasilli. Taft took an early lead by scoring a touchdown and a subsequent 2-point conversion, starting the game off with a score of 0-8. However, Grant quickly closed the gap by scoring a touchdown, earning them six points but still two behind Taft. Throughout the first quarter, the square remained tight, with Grant usually trailing by only seven to ten points.

Unfortunately, as the game progressed into the second quarter, Taft began to gain a significant advantage, bringing the score to 25-57 by halftime. Nevertheless, our Lancers didn’t lose hope and managed to score another touchdown, bringing the score to 33-57.

Despite their efforts, the game ended with the victory of Taft at a score of 41-78, leaving our Lancers frustrated. This was due to the 3 uncounted touchdowns made by Grant, which many felt was unfair. This dissatisfaction led Grant's side to “boo” the referees, with both players and audience members believing that they were “robbed” of points.

Although we lost, our Lancers maintained their determination and spirit. Players with jersey numbers 77, 7, and 11 highlighted their commitment to improving in every practice, which is evident in their performance during this game, where they scored their highest point total of this season at forty-one points. Our Lancer football continues to work hard and remains motivated despite the many challenges. Make sure to stop by and cheer on our Lancers as they work to improve!
